What Paint Color Should I Use?

So there’s been a common practice in the past several years when remodeling: Neutral.

I think the term has become somewhat of a divider for people, because they seem to think that picking neutral colors means taking the personal touch out of remodeling and decorating.  These are some pictures I took of an upstairs bedroom in Minneapolis this year.  While I am all about people picking their own personal colors for painting, I think this goes to show why neutral colors work most of the time when buying or selling a home.

I mean, c’mon – would you want to wake up in a room of this color every morning?  I sure wouldn’t.

I call this the B.B. Room – Standing for “Blue Bed Room” and also the famous Blues guitarist/singer, B.B. King.  Even the carpet is BLUE!

It just goes to show you, people don’t normally consider resale value when they try to make improvements to their home.
