Home Buying in Winter
I thought it would be nice to take a break from the serious side of the MN First Time Home Buyers blog and have some winter fun!
I certainly hope no one is out shopping for a snow house like the one pictured here, but if you’re in the market for a new home in 2010, you may want to seriously consider shopping during the winter.
Just like the big department stores, homes are sold at a discount during the cold months of the year. By taking a look in the dead of winter, you may just find a better bargain the the post-New Year’s sales at the retail stores.
Here are a few reasons why buying a house in the winter may be beneficial:
- Less buyers looking means less competition for you
- Banks want to sell Foreclosures as fast as possible (especially in winter)
- Many Realtors and Loan Companies have more time to devote to you individually
All this adds up to a nice buying environment for those people looking to get a good deal.
