Ok, so I couldn’t resist taking this photo while out showing properties tonight with another buyer client.  Luckily we were on our 7th and last house of the evening, so stopping for a moment to marvel at the luminous glow from this house was fine by both of us.

It got me thinking, while I gazed into the front yard of these home owners, “How much larger is their Xcel bill this month because of these thousands of lights?”

I’ve heard that LED X-mas lights are better for the environment and also reduce energy costs by up to 80% or so.  Which would be great if you had a gigantic display like this.  I hope I’m not the only one to stop and take pictures of the house this season.  If I am, then what’s the point of putting up so many lights anyway?

But seriously people, how many lights do you need on your house?  We get the point.

I guess it’s just in the old “Christmas Spirit” of things, but I can’t help but wonder what the neighbors think…
